News From the Choir
The Chancel Choir is looking forward to the middle of November this year. WE WILL HAVE NEW CHOIR CHAIRS IN THE CHOIR LOFT. Praise to GOD. The old ones have really served well. The new ones will be a lot more comfortable. Lawrence and I would like to welcome some new members: Don and Cathy Barber, and of course we are glad to have Brother Gary sing with us each week. Also, we have some who have come back to us who were members before: Lavinia Gossett, Martha McCain, Diane Kemp, Lee Woodard and Debra Terry. We try to use our music each week to point people to God and what he can do in all of our lives.
Our Christmas Cantata will be December 18 at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Jeff Quirk and Lawrence Douglas will provide our accompaniment and the choir should be between 25 and 30 strong. Lawrence tells me this is the largest choir the church has had in quite some time. Invite your friends and neighbors to come and hear the cantata. It is always a joyous experience. Also, we can always use more voices. If you have considered singing in our choir, we would love to have you. The chairs will be comfy and you will help make the first impressions of our church be a good one to our visitors each week.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve in the capacity of Choir Director of this church. Lawrence, Jeff, Brother Gary and the entire staff are a real joy. May God continue to bless and use our music ministry in this church. We would like to start some groups for our children and youth in our church. This will enable us to reach out to other families in the community. Let me know if you have some interest or you would like to help.

Why A Choir?
Come join us before God, come join with us in music.
John Wesley encouraged all of us to sing with "good courage" and to lift our voices "with strength". Implied in that statement and implicit in all of Wesley's writings about church music is the idea that the music of the church is the birthright of every worshiper. Truly the most important thing we can do is to encourage and strengthen the music of God's people, and, just as important, to use our God-given gift of music to serve Him in worship.
Music, I believe, is one of the most powerful tools of the Holy Spirit. Singing together serves to unify the Christian community, to comfort us in times of need, to challenge our old ways of thinking, and to inspire us to greater commitment when time calls for it.
Before our Organ
A part of all of us brought the organ to our pulpit.
What a wonderfull Blessing, our finished Reuters Pipe organ!
