A Message From Kendra Floyd, DCYYA

On Mother’s Day (May 13), the children will be performing and presenting gifts to all mothers in the church. The Sewing Circle will be assisting the children and youth in making a present for all of the mothers on May 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the church. We will provide a snack for each child. On May 6, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. the children will meet in the church sanctuary to practice their Mother’s Day performance.

Patty Smith, Director of Children and Family Ministries for the TN conference, will be joining us during our Sunday morning worship service on May 20 to share a bit of her expertise. The Lord has blessed her with powerful insight about children and family ministries, so you will not want to miss out on her message!

It is almost summer, which means preparations for Vacation Bible School are underway!  We will be diving deep into God’s Word this year on June 5-7 from 6-8 p.m. The theme for VBS this year is “Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep with God”.  Please invite your friends and family to join us on this adventure. We hope that the entire church will be involved this year. Whether it is attending the nightly assemblies or volunteering your time as a “Dive Team Leader”, we need your help. If you are interested in volunteering or helping in any way this year, please sign up on the “VBS board” located on the wall across from the nursery or contact Kendra Floyd by phone (931) 698-2102 or email (kfloyd7@gmail.com). Another way to help is to help us fulfill our needs on the “VBS Wish List” (below and on VBS Board). If you have questions about quantity of the items on the Wish List contact Kendra.  You can register your child in three ways:

1) Fill out a registration form located on the table at the back of the church sanctuary and return it to the church office,

2) Register online at overboard.cokesburyvbs.com/fumcmp and click “register a child”, and

3) At the registration table on the first day of VBS.  We would prefer if you register your child before June 1.  We hope you and your child will join us for this fun week of learning about the Lord!
