"We strive to be a church family that worships together acting as one body using our talents to share God's love by reaching out and leading people to Christ, making disciples of them, and nurturing them to Christian maturity."
Words from, and shared by, our Pastor
Reverend Gary Wedgewood
16 As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, "Follow me and I will make you fish for people." 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Mark 1:16-18 (NRSV)
Long ago, as Jesus passed by, he began to say, “Follow me”, and many people “immediately” left their old life behind and “followed him”. He called people to be disciples, to get their hands dirty doing ministry, and to engage in a deep relationship with God. Jesus continues to call his disciples and the entire world into the exciting and rewarding life of ministry modeled after the life of Christ. He has/is calling you. Have you responded? If not, why not?
Opportunities to get into the thick of the Christian mission, into the ministry and life of the Church, are plentiful. Just look at what you could be doing at First United Methodist Church.
